Application & One‑off Fees

- Years 10–13 (Upper Secondary / Lycée, GCSE/IGCSE/A‑Level years): Annual €25,600. Per term: €8,533.33 (rounded where necessary).
Note on discounts: A 10% sibling reduction applies where three children are enrolled and no employer subsidy applies; a 20% reduction applies for families with four or more children and no employer subsidy. Joint parental liability for fees applies.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Term dates (composition used for invoicing): 1st Term 1 September–31 December; 2nd Term 1 January–31 March; 3rd Term 1 April–3 July. Ongoing term remains fully payable in case of cancellation during that term.
- Invoicing may be issued annually or on a term basis; the school issues invoices that include tuition and additional billed items. For returning students a down payment is required before re‑enrolment deadlines (amounts and deadlines specified at re‑enrolment).
- Payment schedules accepted for tuition by SEPA direct debit (preferred):
- Single annual debit on the specified June due date; or
- Two instalments (June 1 and December 1 as per the published schedule); or
- Nine monthly instalments (June to February as per the published schedule). SEPA direct debit is preferred from a French or eligible European account; bank charges for foreign transfers are the payer's responsibility.
- Other tuition payment methods: cash (within French legal cash limits), bank transfer (per the invoicing schedule). Cheques or credit card are accepted only for certain items (extracurricular activities, holiday courses, travel, application fees). Rejected direct debits or cheques incur administrative fees unless remedied quickly. Late payment interest and penalty charges apply for overdue invoices.
Boarding
- Mougins British International School does not list any boarding provision or boarding fees; the school's fees and conditions cover day‑school services (meals, uniforms, extracurricular activities) and additional optional items billed separately.
Other costs and optional fees
- Canteen (lunch) fee (Primary and Secondary): Annual €1,725; canteen badge (new students): €15; occasional meal price: €12. Canteen fees are invoiced with tuition and are not refundable if a pupil does not consume meals.
- Laptop programme (Year 6–13): School‑prepared laptop for Years 6–11 approx. €700 (including insurance); Year 12–13 students may buy or bring their own device (registration required).
- Optional annual PTA contribution (voluntary): €150. School trips and extra‑curricular activities will incur additional charges; an example annual estimate for some trips is listed in the optional fees section and specific trip costs are invoiced when organised (large residential trips are charged separately).
- EAL (English as an Additional Language) and Learning Support (RISE) programmes have specified cycle prices depending on level and hours; these are additional to tuition and are invoiced per cycle or term as applicable. - Uniforms and sports kits are purchased separately via the school uniform shop; the school invoices other optional activity charges separately. A one‑off book deposit for Years 7–13 (€200) is refundable on return of books in good condition.
Refunds, cancellation and early‑departure rules
- Application fee: refundable only if the school is informed of cancellation by registered letter within 15 calendar days following receipt of payment. Excellence Fund and registration fees are non‑refundable.
- Re‑enrolment deposit: families must meet re‑enrolment payment conditions; a specified down payment is required at re‑enrolment and is deducted from annual tuition when paid. The down payment may be refunded only in specific, limited circumstances set out in the school's terms (for example, where the school itself changes the proposed educational arrangements or in limited transfer cases).
- Early departure: parents must give 90 days' (three months') written notice by registered letter; any ongoing school term remains fully payable. Failure to provide the required notice will render the next term due except in justified, legitimate circumstances.
- Canteen fees are not refundable for pupil absence (even with a medical certificate). Refunds of other optional items (such as trips) depend on the specific activity terms and the timing; where the school cancels arrangements or changes provision to services not offered by the school, previously paid tuition or deposits may be refunded in line with the school's cancellation clauses.
Penalties & charges
- Late payment interest is charged at the legal rate plus two percentage points, together with a 10% late payment penalty on unpaid invoices; debt‑recovery fees apply for escalation of non‑payment (fixed fees for successive dunning steps and a bailiff fee). A fee is charged for rejected direct debits or unpaid cheques; the school may suspend services or terminate the contract for non‑payment.
Important practical notes on invoicing and timing
- For students enrolling mid‑term, fees are charged pro rata by month; however the month in which a student begins is invoiced in full.
