Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
1. Enquiry and Visit. The family contacts the school via phone, walk-in or web form. The British School of Monaco provides English language education in line with the English National Curriculum. Prospective parents and their child are invited to visit in person where possible to familiarise themselves with the Mission, Vision and Values and the programmes on offer. Visits during term time are encouraged to observe learning and experience the life of the school. The school normally maintains a maximum of sixteen students per class.
2. Application and Documentation. The family meets with the school founders to understand the programmes and then completes the application form and submits all required documents, along with the Application Fee. Only fully complete applications are passed to the Admissions Team for assessment. The Admissions Team reviews the application.
3. Assessment. Applicants are invited to undertake admissions assessment and interview, appropriate to their age. The Admissions Team reviews the application and the family is advised of the outcome. In the event that the school is unable to accept a student, the Director's decision will be final.
4. Registration, Fees and Start-of-Term Information. Parents are notified that a place has been allocated pending payment of the one-time Registration Fee, and an Enrolment Agreement with an invoice for tuition fees will follow. The applicant is fully enrolled once these payments are complete. The school may withdraw the offer if information relating to the child is withheld at any point, and if a student leaves the school and the family wishes to return, a new application for a place will need to be made. Fees are €600 application, €3,000 registration, and €32,000 for Early Years, €39,500 for Primary & Lower Secondary up to Year 9, and €41,000 for Upper Secondary Year 10+; fees cover tuition, stationery, school lunches, learning materials, in-school technology and learning technology access, and school trips in Monaco, with additional fees possible for musical instrument lessons and some extracurricular and enrichment activities, and further information will be provided ahead of the start of term to ensure students and families are prepared and welcomed into the school.
Located in Monaco, The British School of Monaco opened in November 2022 as a family‑run school delivering a British Curriculum with English‑language instruction at the heart of every classroom. The school follows the English National Curriculum, adapted for local characteristics, and is accredited and recognised as a Cambridge school. A broad Cambridge pathway for Years 7–11 leads to IGCSEs, followed by A‑Levels, with English as the language of instruction throughout. French is taught from Year 1 to Year 6, and the school offers an Individual Programme to tailor secondary, IGCSE and A‑Level pathways to individual learners. The campus comprises a primary site with indoor spaces and a nearby recreation area at the Modelex site, owned by the school and recognised by authorities, with a planned secondary site atop a cliff beside Jardin Exotique connected by a lift to shorten travel between sites. Facilities include spacious classrooms for up to sixteen pupils, whiteboards and interactive smartboards, a well‑stocked library and access to a swimming pool and local stadia for PE. The school runs a house system, a diverse enrichment programme, and participates in activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, off‑site trips, and reading initiatives.
