History

The European School Karlsruhe was founded in 1962 as the result of an innovative project supported by all EU countries. The school has a long history of plurilingual and multicultural education. Its mission is to promote European values and to support the development of each pupil. With highly qualified teachers, the school provides education in science, arts and literature from nursery to the European Baccalaureate, enabling graduates to attend universities worldwide.

Community

The European School Karlsruhe integrates a European dimension through projects and partnerships. The school is part of a network of 13 European schools in 6 EU countries, offering numerous European projects that develop multilingual and multicultural competencies and enable exchanges and collaboration with other schools and partners. The school emphasizes collaborative projects with pupils and partners, fostering a vibrant, cross-cultural community.

Parent-Teacher Association

The Parents Association (PA) is a non-profit organisation representing the parents and their children in the bodies of the school. The PA supports the school in a variety of projects and mediates between parents, pupils and the school. The PA is responsible for the organization of the canteen and the transport of the students. It also organises the after-school activities and the holiday-care. Every family with pupils enrolled at the European School Karlsruhe can become a member of the PA.

European School Karlsruhe serves nursery through secondary education, culminating in the European Baccalaureate. Affiliated with EU, it is part of the European School network, featuring a distinctive multilingual curriculum delivered in English, French and German. The school welcomes pupils from over 50 countries, offering tuition in up to 15 languages and a strong emphasis on language development from early years. The school emphasizes SWALS language options and transfers between European Schools support mobility for families abroad.
