ISN was founded in 2005 by the Verband der Holz- und Kunststoffverarbeitenden Industrie Rheinland-Pfalz e.V. together with the financial support of SBW Haus des Lernens. ISN is a coeducational, full-day international school for children aged 4–18. It is housed in a 19th-century historic landmark building close to the city centre of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse. ISN offers Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A-level programmes and is an accredited Cambridge examination centre. ISN is recognised by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate as an accredited supplementary school and all Cambridge programmes offered including the A-levels are recognised and welcomed throughout Germany and around the world.
The ISN community includes learning partners, parents, staff and other stakeholders from more than 20 countries and five continents. Expatriate families benefit from the social network at ISN that eases integration, while local German parents value the English-language instruction. The school fosters a diverse, open-minded and caring community and encourages participation in projects and initiatives that support the holistic development of each child. ISN hosts an International Festival celebrating global identity, offering a day where attendees can visit ten countries in a single day with authentic food and cultural highlights, with the 2026 festival scheduled for May 7.
The Parents & Friends (P&F) committee is an active and committed parents' organisation that exchanges information and meets on a regular basis. The main focus is to welcome new families to ISN and plan various school activities and social events to enrich learning partners' school life and strengthen the school community. ISN's current P&F committee members come from almost every year group. Committee members include Kati Bätzel, Danielle Blackwell, David Buchholz-Sanchez, Norma Dahlke, Michelle Erdner, Katerina Palarchi, Corey Soennecken and Peggy Wenderoth.
International School of Neustadt (ISN) is a private international, English-language day school for ages 4 to 18 located in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Germany. The curriculum blends Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and International AS & A Levels with the SBW Lernens approach, providing a coherent path from Early Years through Cambridge Advanced Programmes. All learning partners are taught in English, with a strong emphasis on German language learning and support for non-native speakers. The historic campus is housed in a 19th-century building with two later wings, and includes a library with English and German titles, a modern science laboratory, and a digital suite of iPads and laptops. Small class sizes enable individualized instruction. ISN is an official Cambridge examination centre and is recognised by Rhineland-Palatinate as an accredited supplementary school.
