Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

The school provides a German-English bilingual education and follows the Bavarian curriculum with additions, including a special subject called Europa. Each class is attended by three trained adults—a German-speaking teacher, an English-speaking teacher, and a pedagogical staff member from Ganztagsbetreuung (GTB). English instruction becomes formal in the third grade. The bilingual setup supports language development throughout the primary years.

Arts and Creative

Choir and theatre are offered as part of the fourth-grade program, with students participating in these arts classes for half a school year. Fourth graders can practice and qualify for a bicycle license with the Munich Police. After May, the class may create a theatre piece with a professional actor and perform it for the school and parents. Mini-concerts are held twice a year, where students showcase playing instruments such as flute, guitar, and piano.

Cultural and Language

The school offers a German-English bilingual program, with English instruction delivered by an English native-speaking teacher in every class. English language instruction becomes formal in the third grade. After-school GTB includes foreign and second language lessons as part of its offerings.

Social and Hobbies

First graders are called the Rabbits, second graders the Wolves, third graders the Ants, and fourth graders the Penguins, reflecting a connected school community. Older students mentor younger peers as ‘paten,' planning parties and outings together and sharing a lunch break. The daily learning environment emphasizes social interaction, listening, collaboration, and conflict resolution among students.

Leadership and Professional

Paten arrangements place older students in leadership roles as mentors to younger peers; they plan activities, host outings, and help organize class life. Fourth-grade students also lead by example during shared events and support first-graders throughout the year. These opportunities foster leadership, planning, teamwork, and peer-support skills among students.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Ganztagsbetreuung (GTB) provides before- and after-school care, with care from 7:30 to 8:30 before school and 16:00 to 18:30 after school, including snacks and a range of activities. After the instructional day, GTB offers open activities, free play, instrument lessons, and foreign language lessons. Ferienbetreuung (holiday care) runs during school breaks with field trips and a varied program; sports, cooking and baking, and creative offerings are included in GTB programming.
