Facilities

Resources and spaces that support learning and development

Facilities Overview

The school runs an extended day from 8:30 to 16:00 and offers before-school care from 7:30 and after-school care until 6:30 PM; Fridays are shorter. A warm noonday meal is provided, and snacks are offered during recess. The Ganztagsbetreuung provides a rotating program with sports, theatre, music, and creative activities as part of daily school life.

Sports Facilities

Physical education takes place at Oselschule or at the Obermenzinger Gymnasium; from the second grade there are three PE lessons, with one session held in the Grundschule Bewegungsraum. During the lunch break, children visit nearby playgrounds in all weather, and the Bolzplatz in the immediate neighborhood is regularly used.

Academic Facilities

The school uses two languages of instruction—German and English—with English taught through immersion. The same teacher speaks only English to the children or exclusively German. The Bavarian curriculum is followed, with an integrated core program in grades 1–2 and subject-based instruction in grades 3–4, plus a weekly Europe-focused topic. Integration of language and culture is supported by on-site mother-tongue instruction in languages such as French, Spanish, and Greek.

Extra-Curricular Activities

The GTB program offers daily after-school activities including sports, theatre, music, and creative projects. In addition, families can arrange private instrumental and language lessons on-site with external instructors (e.g., guitar, piano, violin, recorder) and languages such as French, Spanish, and Greek.

Ages 6 to 10. The school adds a dedicated Europa subject that explores family origins and broader European contexts. In every classroom three adults—one German-speaking teacher, one English-speaking teacher, and a Ganztagsbetreuung paraprofessional—support learning, with English instruction delivered through immersion; English instruction becomes formal in Grade 3, and the same teacher speaks English or German throughout the lesson. JACG is part of Münchner Schulstiftung – Ernst von Borries. Facilities include an extended day from 8:30 to 16:00, with before-school care from 7:30 and after-school care until 18:30; a warm noonday meal and recess snacks. GTB offers a rotating program with sports, theatre, music, and creative projects. On-site mother-tongue instruction in languages such as French, Spanish and Greek supports language and culture. A pupil leadership program, called Paten, fosters mentoring of younger students.
