Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

The Jan-Amos-Comenius-Grundschule (JACG) is a four-year primary school officially recognized by the Bavarian state. It was founded in 2009 to provide a German-English bilingual education for a diverse community of learners. The Bavarian curriculum is followed with a few personal additions, including a dedicated subject called Europa. Three adults support each class: a German-speaking teacher, an English-speaking teacher, and a pedagogical assistant from Ganztagsbetreuung. The school is located in München-Pasing and is part of Münchner Schulstiftung – Ernst von Borries.

Community

The school offers a German-English bilingual program with a European orientation, with two teachers per class—one German-speaking and one English-speaking—and Ganztagsbetreuung (GTB) staff accompanying the children throughout the day. Lunch is provided by IL CIELO Bio Catering Service, and the school participates in partnerships such as the Africa Project, Roberta—Learning with Robots, and collaboration with the University of Eichstätt for English didactics. The school hosts a calendar of celebrations and cultural events, including Schulanfangsfeier, JACtoberfest, Nikolaus, Adventsfeier, Fasching, Kleine Konzerte, and Sommerfest.
