Facilities Overview

The Obermenzinger Gymnasium is a private school in Munich's Obermenzing district with about 340 pupils and 75 staff. It has its own canteen serving healthy meals prepared by two chefs. A donor-supported project aims to create a large canteen as part of a future building. The campus supports a range of facilities for study and activity and offers a broad set of elective courses and clubs. Bilingual teaching has been part of the school since 2013 and the school emphasises STEM and cultural education across its facilities.

Sports Facilities

The school provides a sport hall and an outdoor basketball court for regular activities. Scuba diving is integrated into the curriculum with PADI-certified training led by Stefan Mula, including trips to lakes and coastal destinations through Münchner Schulstiftung. Golf and tennis instruction is offered by qualified coaches, with child-sized rackets for younger pupils. The Basketball AG began in 2010/11 and uses the sport hall or outdoor court depending on weather; the Soccer 5 AG meets Mondays from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Open sport allows football, table tennis and other games several days a week in the sport hall.

Academic Facilities

The Computer Workshop provides hands-on ICT learning where students build and repair PCs and learn related costs and hardware installation. ICDL certification is offered from the 6th grade, as part of the ICT program, with ABIplus providing an additional professional qualification alongside Abitur. The school runs a STEM-focused program with robotics, computer science (Informatik) in the G9 pathway, and related cross-disciplinary projects. Since 2024/25, licenses with fobizz give teachers AI-assisted tools to digitalise lessons and expand AI-related activities.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Elective courses and clubs include diving, golf, photography, handicrafts, robotics, tennis, and Chinese. The MINT program offers activities such as PC-Werkstatt, Schulbiotop, Schulgarten, Robotik-AG and MINT-Wettbewerbe, along with KI-Künstliche Intelligenz courses and other AI-related initiatives. Additional cross-disciplinary activities cover robotics, environmental projects, and various science and technology competitions to complement the standard curriculum.

Obermenzinger Gymnasium is a private German gymnasium in Munich's Obermenzing district with about 340 pupils and 75 staff. It follows the German curriculum and offers the G9 pathway in two branches: Wirtschafts-Wissenschaftliches Gymnasium (WWG) and Sprachliches Gymnasium (SG). Bilingual teaching has been available since 2013 through German-English B-class tracks. The school uses a Two-Teacher System with Pedagogical Assistants to support small classes. ABIplus enables students to obtain a professional qualification alongside the Abitur. The campus emphasises STEM and cultural education, with an ICT program that includes ICDL certification from grade 6 and robotics/ computer science in the G9 pathway; since 2024/25, AI tools have been integrated for teaching. Living Europe / Erasmus+ exchanges have been active since 1996, with study trips. Facilities include a canteen, sport hall and outdoor courts; MusiKultur, theatre and instrumental ensembles complement arts education. Scuba diving is integrated into the curriculum with trips and PADI training.
