History

Founded in 2006, Erasmus Frankfurter City School is a private, trilingual, full-day primary school in Frankfurt. It has roots dating back to 1536. It is described as a somewhat different private school in Frankfurt that offers German, English and Spanish instruction. It follows the educational standards of the State of Hessen and uses a progressive, open, holistic approach to teaching. From the 2026/27 school year it operates in the Merton district.

Community

The school community includes teachers, pupils and parents who are culturally diverse and open-minded. It offers a concept that allows parents to balance work and family. The school employs a team-teaching approach and runs longer interdisciplinary project weeks to explore topics from multiple perspectives. It provides enriching excursions and after-school activities, such as yoga, drama, chess, handicrafts, and collaborations with a music school, plus a holiday programme.

Parent-Teacher Association

The Elternverein am Palmengarten is the parents' association at the Botanical Garden that supports Erasmus School. It offers a partial scholarship for pupils attending the primary school. One scholarship is offered each year. The scholarship covers two-thirds of the monthly fees. The school covers the costs of the admission fee.

Erasmus Frankfurter City School is a trilingual educational institution in Frankfurt’s Ostend district, catering to children from one year old through primary school. The school operates as a state-approved private facility following the Hessian curriculum, integrated with an immersion method in German, English, and Spanish. In each primary class, native speakers for each language work alongside the children throughout the day. Facilities include a library, a gymnasium, and specialized rooms for art and music. A distinctive feature is its status as a certified "Fairtrade School," promoting global awareness and sustainable consumption. Students participate in the "Erasmus Hour," a dedicated time for cross-grade projects and independent research. The school provides an organic lunch program prepared in its own kitchen. This trilingual approach ensures students interact naturally with three languages across all subjects and social activities, rather than through isolated language lessons.
