LCS is an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme, and the Diploma Programme. Learning is delivered through the lens of U.S. curricular standards.
The Arts at Lincoln Community School flourishes at every grade level. In Elementary, the Primary Years Programme supports artistic expression through art, drama and music. In Secondary, students learn instruments and can join bands; there are two band concerts a year, and drama, theatre and film are studied, supported by a black box theatre space and a soundproofed auditorium. The IB Art Show is a signature event.
LCS hosts 60+ nationalities and more than 70 languages are spoken within the community. The school connects students with the heritage of Ghana and hosts multicultural events, including International Festival Day.
After-school activities (ASA) are available, and Middle School and High School clubs operate beyond the regular day. The athletics program offers year-round skill development with competitive teams in soccer, basketball, volleyball and swimming for elementary, middle and high school. The program emphasizes teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship.
Service Learning is embedded in the curriculum from ECC to Grade 12, linking student interests and academic knowledge to the world and fostering empathy and impact. ASA and Middle/High School clubs also support service learning, and students participate in IB Programme service projects. The Connie Buford Award honored Anoushka De for Project REY with REMAR Empowering Youth; other service initiatives include efforts to improve water quality in communities.
Extracurriculars emphasize leadership and holistic growth. An active Parent-Teacher Organization engages families in school life. Lincoln Academy is a Saturday program for students aged 4–16, expanding opportunities beyond the regular school day.
The athletics program supports physical fitness and well-being with a focus on participation in elementary years and competitive teams in middle and high school. The program also fosters teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership, contributing to a positive, caring environment for all learners.
Lincoln Community School is an IB World School and non‑profit international school located in Abelemkpe, Accra, Ghana.
