Lincoln Community School was founded in 1968 by six American families. It is an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programs. The Akyede building opened in 2021 as part of a master facilities plan, including a new three-story elementary building and a library. The school is located in Abelemkpe, Accra, Ghana. The 2023-24 school year marked the 55th anniversary of Lincoln Community School.
The LCS community is cosmopolitan, with students and faculty from many countries and over 70 languages spoken. Approximately 600 students represent more than 60 nationalities. The school offers a rich extracurricular program and an After School Activity Program that keeps community at the heart of Lincoln. Service learning is embedded in the curriculum and in the After School Activity Program, developing self-awareness and social responsibility.
The school has an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) led by its Executive Committee. The PTO supports new families with Orientation Day and the annual Welcome Brunch, and the Welcome Committee helps new families connect to the community. Noha Domloge serves as PTO President. Lincoln Community School is an IB World School and non‑profit international school located in Abelemkpe, Accra, Ghana. The school delivers the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme alongside an American curriculum, with U.S. standards guiding learning across grades. The campus features two libraries, a dedicated Elementary building (Akyedeɛ) opened in 2021 and a Secondary building (Nilee) opened in 2024, plus a Makerspace with laser printers and 3D printing for project‑based work. Students pursue inquiry through the IB framework, with service learning embedded across ECC to Grade 12, and rich opportunities in arts, sport and community engagement. The arts program includes music, drama, film and IB Art Show, supported by a black box theatre and a concert venue. Athletics span swimming, basketball, soccer and volleyball.
