Introduction

Costeas-Geitonas School (CGS) is a long-established private school in Greece educating students aged 3 to 18. It offers the International Baccalaureate across the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme, with Greek as the main language of instruction in the PYP and English as a secondary language. The 67,000 square metre campus features 103 classrooms, 3 science laboratories, 6 computer labs, and a Research & Media Library with over 25,000 holdings. How instalments and deposit are handled
- Standard instalment schedule: first payment 40% of the total, second payment 30%, third payment 30%.
- A registration deposit is required at enrolment and is deducted from the first instalment: EUR 1,600 per student for most year groups; EUR 2,000 per student for IB Diploma Programme entrants. The deposit is payable upon completion of registration.
- Families may choose to pay annually; a 3% discount applies for full annual prepayment when made by the stated prepayment date.

Billing schedule and payment terms (dates used for scheduling and invoicing)
- Invoicing periods and standard due dates: 1st instalment due mid‑September, 2nd instalment mid‑December, 3rd instalment mid‑March. Invoices are issued before the provision of the service and are produced up to the 10th working day of each month.
- Specific instalment dates used in the published schedule: 15 September (1st instalment, 40%), 15 December (2nd instalment, 30%), 15 March (3rd instalment, 30%). The deposit is credited against the first instalment.

Transport (school bus) fees
- Annual transport fees by zone (charged in September): Zone A EUR 1,400; Zone B EUR 1,600; Zone C EUR 1,800; Zone D EUR 1,900; Zone E EUR 2,100. A 50% discount is available for single‑direction use where space permits. Transport fees are billed annually.

Food service / catering fees
- Food service fees (annual): 1 day/week EUR 275; 2 days/week EUR 545; 3 days/week EUR 815; 4 days/week EUR 1,075; 5 days/week EUR 1,250. For younger grades where meals are included, this is reflected in the tuition. Food service cancellations require one month's notice.

Other compulsory or recurring charges
- Inspired Metaverse fee: EUR 50 annually (charged in October) for the listed grade groups.
- IB examination charge (applies to IB Diploma exam year): EUR 750 annually (charged in November) where applicable.

Sibling discounts and other discounts
- Sibling discounts (non‑combinable and applied to the younger child): second child receives 8% off tuition of the compulsory programme; third child receives 40% off tuition of the compulsory programme and 50% off transport; fourth child receives 100% (tuition and transport).
- The 3% prepayment discount for full annual payment is available when the full amount is settled by the stated prepayment deadline.

Refunds and cancellation terms
- Application fee and the one‑off new‑student registration fee are non‑refundable.
- Deposit refund on cancellation of registration before the start of the academic year: 100% refund if cancellation occurs by the specified early deadline; 50% refund if cancelled by the subsequent deadline; no refund of the deposit after the final deadline. Advance notice periods and exact calendar cutoff dates are used to determine eligibility for refund.
- For termination of schooling or termination of transport service during the year, one term's prior written notice is required. For termination of catering, one month's prior written notice is required. Refunds or credits are handled in line with billing and invoicing procedures.

Payment methods accepted
- Payments may be made by bank transfer or by debit/credit card. Invoices are issued prior to service provision and adjustments are made via credit notes where applicable.

Notes on additional charges and timing
- Certain optional programmes and activity fees are announced before the start of the school year and charged when the activity takes place; SMART (afternoon zone) enrolment is term‑based and requires commitment for the full term. Changes in SMART enrolment in the first term are generally permitted up to the specified change deadline without charge.

Curriculum

CGS offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). In the PYP, Greek is the primary language of instruction with English as the secondary language of instruction. CGS provides all three IB programmes for students aged 3–18.

Exam Results

Class of 2025 IB Diploma Programme results: 100% awarded the IB Diploma; average overall score 36.1 out of 45; two students achieved 45/45; 17% scored 40+; 72% scored 35+; 83% were admitted to their first-choice university; 40% were admitted to a Top 150 university.

Higher Education Progression

Graduates gain admission to universities worldwide. For the Class of 2025, 83% were admitted to their first-choice university and 40% to a Top 150 university. University placements include Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), KU Leuven, University of Amsterdam, Trinity College Dublin, and Bocconi University, among others.

Gifted and Talented

CGS Academia provides enrichment for highly motivated students with high academic performance. The programme offers subjects such as Astrophysics, Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Programming, and Public Speaking. Eligibility includes a GPA of the previous year equal to or greater than 18 and 7/14, with at least four nominations by the subject groups in the grade.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

CGS has Counselling Support Services that promote students' personal development, mental and social well-being, and learning. Experiential activities support social and emotional development at all levels. In the early years, preventive programs focus on emotion recognition and social skills; in later years topics include cyberbullying, identity, and career guidance. Classroom observation helps identify learning strengths and needs and inform support plans. The School Counseling Department includes School Psychologists, a Speech Therapist, an Occupational Therapist and Learning Support Teachers who collaborate with families and teachers to support students.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

CGS has a Learning Support Programme that provides diagnosis, remedial education and targeted support for learners with learning difficulties. The programme supports the learner individually to bolster self-esteem, educates teachers on coping with learning differences, informs parents about the policy, and provides in-class monitoring and support in collaboration with teachers. The School Counseling Department addresses learning challenges and emotional, social and behavioral needs, and includes staff who work with families to develop appropriate support plans. Early identification and inclusive practices are embedded in CGS's inclusion framework.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

From age 3 to 6, the languages of instruction are Modern Greek and English; English is taught as an additional language. English as a Language Acquisition course is mandatory for all students, and from age 8 (Grade 3) students choose a second additional language (French, German or Spanish). In the Middle Years Programme, learners receive language teaching in at least two languages, with Modern Greek as Language and Literature and English as Language and Literature or Language Acquisition, and a second additional language from MYP2. In the Diploma Programme, English is the language of instruction, with other languages offered as Group 2 courses (English, French, German, Spanish).

Mental Wellbeing

CGS supports students' mental and social well-being through Counselling services that accompany academic learning. Experiential activities promote social-emotional skills across the school, with targeted support for emotional needs and pathways to additional assessment when necessary.

Safeguarding

CGS follows the Whole School Inclusion Policy to ensure safe, inclusive education and early identification of learning, emotional and social needs. The School Counseling Department provides support for learning, social, emotional, behavioral, medical, mobility and speech-related needs, and comprises School Psychologists, a Speech Therapist, an Occupational Therapist and Learning Support Teachers. An offer of admission is made based on availability, are in accordance with the school's policies and Greek Ministry of Education regulations. Admission criteria are based on age, academic skills, attitude to learning, and candidate's personal profile, taking into consideration the overall dynamics of our existing classes. Based on the year level and language proficiency, testing and screening for placement purposes will take different forms, including, but not limited to, consideration of academic performance records, a personal interview, school readiness testing, literacy and numeracy proficiency testing and a review of previous special needs documentation and health records. Within this framework, admission is based on: interview with the candidate; candidate's performance in diagnostic assessment tasks, designed according to age and grade requirements; candidate's previous academic records, where applicable; a pedagogical report completed by the candidate's current teacher(s)/school, where applicable; a signed declaration by at least one of the parents/guardians of the candidate, which is GDPR compliant and would inform the school of all known or diagnosed special educational needs, is required. Accordingly, professional evaluations, along with details of extra educational, emotional and/or social support the candidate is receiving, should also be provided at the time of application. Failure to provide the required documentation in due time may result in the cancellation of admission. Admission decisions: All applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee, which consists of the head of the level for which the candidate is applying, programme coordinators, Head of Admissions office and representatives from CGS School Counseling Department (SCD). Special consideration is given to eligible applicants who are siblings of currently enrolled students and to CGS staff and CGS alumni families. However, an offer is not guaranteed, as it is subject to standard Admissions procedure. CGS reserves the right to decide against proceeding with the enrollment of a candidate in consideration of learning support resources' availability and in accordance with the school's Policies. In case significant social / emotional / behavioral issues or learning differences arise during the enrollment process at the school, there will be close consultation with parents, and it is possible that accommodations, to allow the student to enroll at CGS may be required. Consequently, additional costs for this service may be incurred. This review may also involve requiring parents to seek external evaluation by an external body. In case the Admissions Committee determines that CGS is unable to support a student's needs, or if parents are unwilling to proceed with the student's evaluation, CGS reserves the right to terminate the enrollment procedure. Once the application is complete, including receipt of school records and confidential recommendations (previous academic records, pedagogical reports, etc.), offers are formally made either via telephone or e-mail within two weeks. Confirmation of offer & enrollment: Offers for admission are to be accepted or rejected by candidate families within one week of receipt by contacting the Admissions office. Once the offer has been accepted, parents will be sent an acceptance letter as well as a Registration Approval Form (RAF). In order to confirm enrollment and reserve a place for the admitted applicant, completion of the RAF and payment of the registration fee (in accordance with the school's fees) are due within 10 days of receipt of the acceptance letter. These commitments must be made on a timely basis so that we guarantee that places are held for admitted applicants who indeed wish to enroll, or we may allocate places to other candidates in the wait pool. Partial refunds are made within specific deadlines in accordance with the school's fee policy. Class Placement: It is our policy to make initial tentative placements of students in classes for the coming year, according to a set of clear and fairly managed criteria, which include: Academic range and balance; Balance between new and returning students; Behaviour issues; Friendships / optimal peer relationships; Gender (in order to maintain a balance in the class); Size of the class; Special needs requirements within the class; Teacher's professional judgement / experience / detailed knowledge of child, considering academic and personal abilities and needs. These recommendations are given very careful consideration by the teachers and will remain tentative until after the arrival and assessment of new students is completed at the commencement of the next year. Reserved places: Special consideration is given to eligible applicants who are siblings of currently enrolled students and the offspring of CGS alumni. Nevertheless, admission is not automatic, and it is dependent on the number of applicants and the number of spaces available in each particular grade, as well as the qualifications of each applicant. Wait pool: When the number of eligible applicants exceeds the availability of spaces for a particular grade, students may be placed in a wait pool until a place becomes available. Scholarships

Financial Aid and Scholarship Fund: CGS is offering academic scholarships for the academic year 2026-27. The scholarships are awarded to students who will be attending A' Gymnasium / MYP2, A' Lyceum / MYP5 and the IB Diploma Programme for the academic year 2026-2027. A maximum of 5 Full Scholarships for A' Gymnasium / MYP2; A maximum of 2 Full Scholarships for A' Lyceum / MYP5; 1 Full and a maximum of 3 Partial Scholarships for the IB Diploma Programme. The granting of a Full Scholarship requires an average score of 80% or higher and success in the personal interview (the student profile is consistent with the International Baccalaureate definition for students attending its programmes). The granting of a Partial Scholarship (30%-80%) requires an average score of 60% or higher (the top 10 candidates with the highest score of over 60%) and success in the personal interview (the student profile is consistent with the International Baccalaureate definition for students attending its programmes). Date of Scholarship Exams (Written component): Sunday 7th March 2026. Deadline for submission of application: Tuesday 3rd March 2026.
