Doukas School

Doukas School uses a psychosocial empowerment program in the Kindergarten to help children recognize, express, and manage their emotions. The program is reinforced by 'My Unique Achievement' and 'Proud to Be Me' initiatives, which celebrate individual progress and empower students as the class protagonist on occasion. The school develops social and emotional skills, ecological awareness, culture, volunteering, safe technology use, and human rights through the Stasi Zois (Lifestyle) program. A Class Supervisor in each class assigns responsibilities to students, supporting social engagement and accountability. A psycho-pedagogical team provides counseling and seminars to students, parents, and teachers to understand needs and promote development.

Within a comprehensive counseling framework, the specialized Psycho-pedagogical Studies provide counseling, support, and seminars for students, parents and teachers to understand needs and improve personal development. School psychologists across Nursery, Primary, and Gymnasium-IB support children, parents, and educators within an organized framework that accounts for individual differences. The Nursery offers specialized programs for phonological awareness, articulation, and handwriting readiness. There are specialized tests to identify and address learning difficulties in Primary. Seminars on learning strategies for students with learning difficulties are offered for Gymnasium and Lyceum, including anxiety-management seminars, and there are parent groups addressing related topics.

The Preschool and Kindergarten are bilingual, with Greek and English, and feature experienced teachers. In addition to the ongoing bilingual provision, there is an enhanced English program to reinforce language learning, supported by the presence of both Greek-speaking and English-speaking teachers in each class. The curriculum encompasses Language, Social Studies, STEM, Arts, Well-being and Health, Physical Education, Digital Skills-Coding & Robotics, Theatre, and Music. The educational approach is holistic, treating the student as a whole and integrating multi-disciplinary projects across subjects.

D-Well centers wellness in the early years, focusing on health, wellbeing, and proper nutrition to foster a culture of active living and sport inside and outside school. The school operates a Bullying Management System to address and prevent bullying. An experienced school psychologist is available daily to provide guidance and support to parents and to conduct assessments such as Phonological Awareness, Articulation checks, and Graphomotor evaluations to prepare children for the transition to primary education. The Stasi Zois program also promotes safe technology use as part of its safeguarding framework, alongside activities that build social and emotional resilience.
