ISA is an English-language school with a strong emphasis on Greek. All students study Modern Greek as either a Language and Literature course or a Language Acquisition course. Students may take up to two Language Acquisition courses in English, Modern Greek, Spanish, French, German, and Arabic. English as an Additional Language (EAL) support is available for students who need it; Greek for Foreigners is offered as a Greek-language program.
English is the language of instruction across ISA's IB programmes. Greek is taught as Modern Greek for native speakers or for foreigners. In addition, students study one more language from French, German, Spanish or Arabic. From Grade 1 through Grade 10, every pupil is exposed to three languages, with English language support provided through an English as an Additional Language (EAL) program.
ISA offers a Saturday English Language Programme for children aged 3 to 17. The program runs on Saturdays from September to May, 10:00 to 15:00, hosted at Melina's Kindergarten.
International School of Athens (ISA) is a private, coeducational international school in Greece serving ages 3–18. English is the language of instruction with EAL support as needed. ISA is an IB World School accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA-CESS), offering the PYP, MYP and DP. The DP is available alongside the College Preparatory Programme, and the ISA High School Diploma is recognized by the Greek Ministry of Education as equivalent to apolytirio. The school operates three secure campuses in Kifissia (Kefalari area) with Melina's Kindergarten nearby. Facilities include science and computer labs, art studios, libraries, a theatre and a music room; university placement services; and athletics facilities for volleyball, soccer, basketball and cross country. The multilingual program offers French, Spanish, German and Arabic from Grade 1, and features an International Day. ISA joined Dukes Education in 2024, reinforcing its international outlook. Arts and sports thrive.
