The curriculum includes Italian language, Modern Greek, and English language as subjects. It also includes history, geography, mathematics, science, music, art and image, physical education, civic education, technology, and religion/alternative activities. Italian, Modern Greek and English are the language subjects within the primary program.
The Scuola Italiana Statale Omnicomprensivo di Atene is the sole Italian state school in Greece and operates as a non-profit entity under the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) via the Embassy of Italy in Athens. It follows the Italian national curriculum across preschool, primary and secondary education, comprising Scuola dell'Infanzia (private kindergarten), Scuola del Primo Ciclo (primary and middle) and Liceo Scientifico Statale. Preschool follows Ministry programs adapted to local conditions; Primaria provides 29 hours of teaching per week and covers Italian, Neo-Greek, English, history, geography, mathematics, science, music, art, physical education, civics, technology and religion or alternatives. Lower secondary includes Italian, Neo-Greek, mathematics, science, English, history, geography, civics, technology, art, physical education and sports; upper secondary centers on mathematics, physics and the natural sciences and includes Italian, Neo-Greek, Latin, English, history, philosophy, art history and civics. The school maintains an inclusive education plan (PAI) to support BES and offers Cambridge certification, Model United Nations, theatre, podcasts and intercultural exchanges.
