Georgetown International Academy (GIA), founded in 1971, is one of 193 American Overseas Schools assisted by the U.S. Department of State. The school serves students from Pre-K through High School. It is an IB Candidate School and offers AP courses at the high school level. The school is accredited by NEASC and is a Tri-Association member. GIA has a gymnasium, a design lab, performing and visual arts programmes, a band programme, and a library. A cafeteria, health services, and counseling are available. A uniform policy is in place. Scholarships are awarded annually.
