HKCA Po Leung Kuk School traces its origins to 1951, when it was established by Mr HO Iu Kwong and the Hong Kong Construction Association as the Building Contractors' Association School. The school officially commenced operation in September 1957. In 2017, Po Leung Kuk and the HKCA collaborated to transform the Building Contractors' Association School into the Kuk's first IB-PYP private school. In 2019 a donation led to the campus on Tin Hau Temple Road being named Ho Iu Kwong Campus.

The campus is located at 62 Tin Hau Temple Road and is described as a renovated, tree-surrounded environment. The HKCA PLK School PTA actively recruits parent volunteers throughout the year to support events and student activities. The PTA maintains an events calendar with a 2025-26 program and has organized major events such as Winter of Hope (the 6 December 2025 winter fair with profits directed to Tai Po Fire victims). Other activities include Box of Hope packing, Halloween celebrations, Diwali festivities, Mid-Autumn Festival activities, World Teachers' Appreciation Week, and Back to School Night 2025. The PTA works in close collaboration with the school to plan and run these events.
HKCA Po Leung Kuk School sits at 62 Tin Hau Temple Road on Hong Kong Island, in the Tin Hau area, and serves children aged 3 to 12. It offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) as its international curriculum, with English as the language of instruction and daily Mandarin (Putonghua) taught as a language subject. The campus is about a 350‑metre walk from Tin Hau MTR Station and sits on a renovated site that was originally built by the Hong Kong Construction Association and later developed through collaboration with Po Leung Kuk for an IB World School. The school began planning to implement the IB‑PYP with authorisation targeted for 2019‑2020; current provision includes Kindergarten (K1–K3) and Primary (Grade 1–6). In 2021–2022, Grade 6 was added; in 2022–23, PM sessions for K1–K3 were introduced. The school has a maximum capacity of 144 Early Years places and 480 Primary places (624 total), with up to 24 students per class and a 10:1 student–teacher ratio. The school emphasizes service to the community, language development and a broad range of co‑curricular activities.
