Facilities Overview

ICHK Secondary is a dynamic IB World School located in the New Territories, Hong Kong. Outdoor learning is built into the curriculum, enabling activities such as walking, exercising, cycling, canyoning, measuring, and conducting science experiments in the surrounding environment. The curriculum blends features from international programmes with elements of ICHK's own design, delivered through the Epistemic Apprenticeship. Curriculum X is an award-winning program that expands learning beyond the traditional curriculum.

Academic Facilities

Year 7 begins the Epistemic Apprenticeship, with a focus on Approaches to Learning and the 5+1 model of learning. In Years 10–11, students follow IGCSEs and BTECs and move into the Wayfinder phase, with Enrichment & Flow classes and the ICHK Transcript. In Years 12–13, students progress to the IB Diploma Programme. The ICHK Transcript recognises a broad range of attributes beyond academic attainment. The school reports strong IGCSE, BTEC and IB Diploma Programme results, with IB graduates progressing to universities worldwide and accreditation as an IB World School, plus membership in The Council of International Schools and the HK Outdoor Learning Association.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Outdoor learning is integrated into the curriculum, and students can engage with literature, science, and history in the surrounding environment. The school runs a wide panoply of environmentally-focused extracurricular activities designed to develop a growth mindset in students. Sustainability is addressed as part of the school's holistic wellbeing and community approach, with activities that support environmental awareness. These outdoor and environmentally-focused activities complement the formal curriculum and student life at ICHK.
