It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
The school was founded in 1963, initially functioning in a small French-language setting with around 30 students in Pok Fu Lam. It later expanded and in March 1999 the Blue Pool Road campus was opened to accommodate the secondary school. Governance is via a not-for-profit structure, with a board including elected parent members and French Consulate representation.
The school community is comprised of students, families, staff, alumni and partners from many nationalities (over 45 countries) across its campuses. Community and cultural events include large family fairs, community festivals and events that celebrate sustainability and multicultural heritage.
Parent involvement is organised through the French International School Community Association (FISCA), which invites parent volunteers to collaborate with students, staff and teachers. FISCA runs “Meet & Greet” breakfasts (e.g., “Get-to-Know FISCA Breakfast”) to bring parents together. It also organises events such as the Uniform & Book Fair at the Blue Pool Road campus (June 2024) to buy/sell used uniforms and books, with proceeds to charity. Parent volunteers may join committees via WhatsApp groups and contribute time according to their availability. Through the year, FISCA hosts social events such as Quiz Nights and community-connection evenings to engage families.
The Blue Pool Road campus of the French International School (FIS) in Hong Kong serves Years 7–13 (8-13 from 2026) and accommodates both the French-medium and English-medium streams in one campus setting. Students in the French stream follow the French national curriculum leading to the Baccalauréat; those in the International stream progress via IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme. Located on Blue Pool Road in Happy Valley, the campus features around 40 classes and approximately 100 teaching staff, and is supported by a school-bus network. Instruction is in French or English depending on stream, and students study additional languages such as Mandarin, Spanish, German and Latin. Co-educational and day-school only, the campus emphasises a multilingual community of learners from many nationalities. Facilities include a gymnasium, art rooms, library, canteen and multipurpose spaces. Signature programmes include bilingual education and an emphasis on sustainability and service through initiatives such as the Green Club.
