Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College was founded in September 2003 under the sponsorship of Po Leung Kuk, one of Hong Kong’s long-established charitable organizations. The school was named in recognition of Madam Ngan Po Ling’s support and generosity. It became the first Po Leung Kuk secondary school to operate under the Direct Subsidy Scheme, allowing greater flexibility in curriculum design and resource management. Since its founding, the school has expanded its programmes and facilities to include both the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
The school community takes part in a wide range of cultural and service activities throughout the year. These include inter-house sports and arts competitions, community fundraising events such as flag-selling days, and student-led charity initiatives under Po Leung Kuk’s outreach programmes. Committees such as the STEAM Committee and Non-Chinese Student Committee also promote inclusion and cross-cultural understanding among students.
he Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Ngan Po Ling College provides an active link between parents and the school. It organises a variety of events such as annual general meetings, family workshops, and parent seminars that promote communication and engagement. The PTA also helps coordinate community-building activities, including Fruit Day, graduation photo booths, and parent-teacher gatherings. These events strengthen home-school cooperation and support a sense of belonging among families.
