Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong was established in September 2019 as part of the Wycombe Abbey International group of schools, which extends the heritage of Wycombe Abbey in the United Kingdom, founded in 1896. Building on its success at the primary and preparatory levels, the school launched its new Senior School in late 2025 at a dedicated campus in Kowloon City. The expansion marks a key milestone in offering a full British education pathway from Year 1 through Year 13 in Hong Kong. The school continues to operate under the Wycombe Abbey International Schools network, which oversees sister schools across Asia.
The school fosters an active community spirit through events that bring together students, families, and staff. Activities such as the Parent-Child Immersive Learning Afternoon and the intergenerational Evermove event encourage collaboration and shared experiences. Regular newsletters and parent engagement sessions keep families closely connected to the academic and social life of the school.
The school promotes strong parent partnerships through its developing group, Friends of Wycombe Abbey Hong Kong, which supports social gatherings, parent networking, and community events. Parent-Information Evenings at the start of each term help families understand curriculum developments and school initiatives. Wellbeing Evenings and Morning Coffee Chats offer opportunities for parents to engage with teachers on topics such as digital safety and adjustment to Hong Kong life. The Parent-Child Immersive Learning Afternoon allows parents to take part in classroom activities, strengthening collaboration between home and school.
Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong’s Senior School (Years 9–13) follows the British educational pathway with IGCSEs in Years 9–10 and A Levels in Years 12–13. Located at 83 Sa Po Road in Kowloon City, the campus offers day-student access and benefits from Kowloon’s transport networks. Instruction is in English, with Mandarin taught as a key language subject. Class sizes are described as intentionally small to support personalised learning, and the curriculum includes core subjects plus mandatory entrepreneurship and iSTEAM modules. Students have access to after-school clinics for tailored academic support and a wide choice of clubs in arts, leadership and creativity. The Senior School builds on a foundation of STEM, critical thinking and English/Mandarin proficiency with the goal of guiding students toward leading global universities. For parents relocating from overseas, the Senior School offers a clear, UK-based progression path within Hong Kong.
