Hungarian and German are treated as equal languages. The school issues bilingual transcripts that are valid in Hungary, Austria, and across the EU. At the end of the 8th grade, students can earn language diplomas in German (ÖSD) and English (FCE) and the European Computer Driving Licence (ICDL).
Österreichisch-Ungarische Europaschule Budapest is a day school with after‑school care serving students aged 6 to 14. The school follows a bespoke bilingual German–Hungarian program with equal status for Hungarian and German, issuing bilingual certificates recognised in Hungary, Austria and the wider EU. Housed at Istenhegyi út 32 in Budapest, it operates under the Austrian-Hungarian Educational Center, from kindergarten through Matura. The curriculum emphasises sustainable education and the development of language, media, social and methodological competencies, while encouraging autonomous, student‑centred learning as pupils take increasing responsibility for their progress. Governance includes a Stiftung, Kuratorium and Aufsichtsrat; Austrian teachers are seconded by Austria. Since 1995, more than 900 students have completed the Europaschule, with over 95% continuing to Gymnasium. Facilities include a lunch service and daily afternoon care until 16:30.
