Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

BBIA opened in 2008 with Kids Kiosk kindergarten. A second kindergarten, First Steps, followed in 2013, and in 2015 BBIA was founded in Budapest's 2nd district offering a British-based education rooted in academic excellence and global citizenship. A secondary campus opened in 2021, and a brand-new unified campus welcomed primary and secondary students in 2024. In 2024 BBIA earned two OPLA awards for Mathematics A and Biology, and in 2025 Kids Kiosk joined BBIA to complete the seamless education pathway.

Community

BBIA maintains a truly multicultural community with students representing 56+ nationalities. The environment is described as safe and welcoming, with an emphasis on empathy, respect, and global citizenship so every child is seen, valued, and encouraged to thrive. The school fosters a strong community connection by working closely with families to build lifelong learning and meaningful connections.

Parent-Teacher Association

The PTA is made up of parents and staff who work together to support school life beyond the classroom, strengthen communication, and fundraise for projects. Two signature community events are the Christmas Fair each December and Family Day each May, celebrating BBIA's diverse culture. All parents and guardians are automatically members and are invited to participate by volunteering or attending meetings. The PTA provides opportunities for families to connect and contribute to school life.
