Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school provides psycho-social support through a bilingual school psychologist who is on-site on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 18:00, with additional availability as needed. She can intervene in classes with mental health topics, lead psychoeducational activities, raise awareness, and participate in parent meetings. Individual consultations are available, up to six sessions per student or family. Appointments are arranged through the life-school system for the secondary level and by teachers for the primary. A social worker is on-site to support child protection work, provide consultations, and participate in meetings and classroom interventions. A monthly watch cell coordinates the identification of students in difficulty and follow-up, with confidentiality maintained for all participants.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school welcomes non-French-speaking students through FLSco (Français Langue de Scolarisation), allowing them to learn French while following the national education program. Allophone students receive support from arrival. In Petite and Moyenne Section, they are immersed in the language with their class to naturally acquire the basics. The FLSco program is open from Grande Section through 5e for non-French-speaking children. In CP, FLSco provides homework assistance by specialist teachers for students with difficulties in the French language whose parents have limited French, to support home learning.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The school welcomes all students, including those who do not yet speak French, through FLSco (Français Langue de Scolarisation), which enables them to learn French while following the French national education program. Allophone students receive support from arrival. In Petite and Moyenne Section they are immersed in the language with their class to acquire the basics naturally. The FLSco program is available from Grande Section through 5e for non-French-speaking children.

Mental Wellbeing

The school provides mental wellbeing support through a bilingual school psychologist on-site Tuesdays and Wednesdays (10:00–18:00), who can intervene in classes on mental health topics and lead psychoeducational activities, as well as attend parent meetings and provide individual consultations (up to six sessions for the same student/family). The psychologist can be contacted via the school's psychology email. A social worker is also on-site (Wednesday 10:00–14:00) to offer individual consultations, crisis intervention, and collaboration with the psychologist, with co-interventions in classrooms as needed. A monthly watch cell identifies students in difficulty and coordinates actions, with all team members maintaining confidentiality.

Safeguarding

The safeguarding framework is supported by the psychologist and the social worker, who collaborate with the school to address child protection issues and ensure confidentiality. The social worker coordinates with child protection authorities as required and participates in parent meetings and classroom interventions. The school maintains a watch cell (Cellule de veille) that meets monthly to identify at-risk students, coordinate actions, and monitor follow-up. Parental authorization is required for additional consultations beyond initial visits, and contact details for the psychologist and the social worker are provided for cases requiring assistance.
