Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
1. Make an enquiry. Use the online enquiry form to start the BISB admissions process. BISB will respond within 24 hours (local time, Monday to Friday). You can also call or email BISB, or arrange a visit to Budapest or a one‑to‑one virtual discovery tour. A BISB admissions team member will guide you through the next steps.
2. Take a tour. The best way to understand BISB is to visit in Budapest or take a virtual discovery tour if you can't attend in person. The tour introduces you to the BISB community, campus, and environment. BISB will explain the next steps after your visit.
3. Send us your application. Your child can join BISB at any time during the academic year. Complete the online application form and provide the required supporting documents. The admissions team will review your submission and guide you to the assessment stage.
4. Assessment and interview. After receiving your form and documents, BISB will invite your child to an assessment and interview. Depending on age, the assessment may include class observations and tests of English language fluency, writing, and cognitive abilities. The assessment is part of BISB's admissions process.
5. Offering and accepting a place. If all goes well, BISB will offer your child a place and confirm the start date. You must accept the offer in writing to secure the place. Once accepted, BISB will provide the next steps for enrollment and onboarding.
6. Starting school. BISB supports a smooth transition when starting school and helps you settle into the BISB community. The school addresses the needs of new families and aims to make the first weeks comfortable. Staff provide onboarding support during the initial weeks to facilitate settling in.
