History

The school is founded on the belief that self-learning leads to lifelong learning. AIS has 25 years of inspired lifelong learning. The school has a community of about 1850 people comprising teachers, students, and staff. AIS maintains a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio. It is affiliated with the International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), and the Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board (GHSEB). It offers IB-PYP for Grades 1-5, Cambridge Lower Secondary for Grades 6-7, Cambridge IGCSE for Grades 8-10, and a choice of IBDP, Cambridge AS & A Levels, or GHSEB HSC for Grades 11-12.

Community

AIS offers opportunities across sports, visual and performing arts, coding, and design thinking. Students participate in community outreach projects to become proactive, empathetic problem solvers and global citizens. Care for self, care for others, and care for the community are foundational to AIS culture; in the Primary Years, units include community work and Grade 5 exhibitions focused on community work, and in middle and high school, CAS projects support real-world impact. Cultural celebrations and intra- and inter-school events provide opportunities to showcase students' talents.

Ahmedabad International School (AIS) is an Indian international school for ages 5–18, offering a blend of IB, Cambridge and Gujarat board curricula. The school operates with a 25-year history and a community of 1,850 people, maintaining a 10:1 student–teacher ratio. AIS is affiliated with the International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and Gujarat Higher Secondary Education Board (GHSEB). In grades 1–5, students follow IB-PYP; grades 6–7 use a Cambridge lower secondary framework; grades 8–10 study Cambridge IGCSE; grades 11–12 offer IB Diploma Programme, Cambridge AS/A Levels or GHSEB HSC. The IBDP core comprises TOK, CAS and EE. State-of-the-art ICT facilities include a 24x7 Wi‑Fi lab and a Makerspace. The library supports multilingual learning with Gujarati, Hindi and other language resources. English is the primary language of instruction; Hindi and Gujarati are offered as additional languages; French ab initio/B SL is offered and Spanish ab initio is being considered.
