Bombay International School in Mumbai operates across two campuses, Gilbert Campus in Babulnath and the Junior Campus at New Marine Lines, serving learners from age 3 to 19. The school offers a multi-path curriculum that blends the IB Primary Years Programme (ages 3–12), an Integrated Middle School, Cambridge IGCSE (ages 14–16), and the IB Diploma Programme (ages 16–19). The Diploma is complemented by university counselling, CAS, and a Results & Placements focus, underpinned by an Integrated Learning approach and strong student wellbeing. BIS emphasizes hands-on inquiry, broad subject choices that support science, humanities, and the arts, with capstone projects such as Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge. Facilities include a Student Resource Centre, SEE Learning, sports, creative arts, and educational tours. The school fosters community via service learning, NGO partnerships, and clubs in academics, arts, languages, and leadership. Since 1962 BIS has prepared graduates for scholarships and admission to universities.

Two BIS campuses are in Mumbai. The Gilbert Campus is Gilbert Building, Babulnath, 2nd Cross Road, Mumbai 400007. The Junior Campus is 42, Sir Vithaldas Thackersey Marg, New Marine Lines, Mumbai 400020. Both campuses are in central Mumbai with access to local road and rail transport.

The BIS curriculum includes the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for ages 3-12, with Early Years (Lower Prep–Upper Prep) and Junior School (Grade 1–5). The PYP uses a thematic, hands-on approach with four pillars: Curiosity & Inquiry, Social & Emotional Development, Conceptual Understanding, and Creative Expression. Middle School (Grade 6-8) leads to Cambridge IGCSE (Grade 9-10), a four-year journey with active, differentiated learning and a broad subject offer. Cambridge IGCSE is offered to Grades 9-10, emphasizing research, critical thinking, collaboration, technology and global perspectives, preparing students for the IBDP. The IB Diploma Programme (Grade 11-12) is complemented by University Counselling, CAS and Results & Placements, underpinned by an Integrated Learning approach and a strong focus on student wellbeing.
IBDP Results (Class of 2025): 46 students; average BIS score 38.4/45; average grade 6.3/7; 20 students earned a perfect 3/3 in the core; 43 students appeared and obtained the IB Diploma; 233 total acceptances across countries. Destinations include USA (28 acceptances), UK (7), Canada (1), Europe (7), and India (21).
DP 2025 placements show 233 total acceptances across countries, with destinations in the USA, UK, Canada, Europe and India. Notable universities include Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, Duke University, Emory University, Georgetown University, Northwestern University, Stanford University, Tufts University, the University of California system (e.g., UC San Diego, UC Berkeley), University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, and Wesleyan University.
Student wellbeing is prioritized at BIS. The Student Resource Centre (SRC) provides a safe space for students from Lower Prep through Grade 12, with wellbeing programs and counselling. SEE Learning (Social Emotional Ethical Learning) guides BIS's approach, a collaboration between Emory University and His Holiness the Dalai Lama that fosters emotional, social, and ethical intelligence. Wellbeing classes, Circle Time, and one-on-one counselling support students with sensory regulation, growth mindset, self-management, and emotional regulation. The SRC also offers programs to extend learning and targeted small-group sessions to support students beyond the classroom.
The school offers a Life Skills curriculum to support the emotional and social well-being of students. Counsellors provide individual and group counselling. The school implements social-emotional learning programs. The school aims to cater to diverse learning needs and fosters a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment aligned with IB philosophy.
Mental wellbeing is prioritized at BIS. The SRC provides wellbeing classes and confidential one-on-one counselling to support social, behavioural, and emotional needs. Circle Time offers an outlet for students to express themselves and discuss differences, diversity, and inclusion. SEE Learning underpins BIS's approach to emotional and ethical development. The PeerSupport Group provides student-led support for emotional wellbeing.
The BIS admissions process includes Admission Entry Points: Chance Vacancies for Grades 1–7 in the 2026–27 academic year (register interest; you will be notified if a vacancy arises; the form must be completed each year), Lower Prep (admission process closed for 2026; register interest for the class of 2027), Grade 8 (admissions closed for 2026), Grade 9 (Cambridge IGCSE) (no openings for 2026), and IBDP (Grade 11) (IBDP admissions for the Class of 2026–2028 are closed; for information about 2027 admissions email).
