Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Registration and forms: Fill Admission Form, Consent Form, ID Card Form, Health Card Form, Transportation Form if opted, and paste passport-size photographs. Provide a copy of the child's Birth Certificate and the child's Aadhaar Card as well as the parents' Aadhaar cards. For international students, provide a copy of Passport and Visa/OCI, plus copies of academic reports from the last school and the Original Leaving Certificate. A one-month non-refundable Admission Fee is payable with the submission of forms.

2. Eligibility and age criteria: All students must meet the age criteria for the relevant programme. After registration, an Admission Counsellor interacts with the parents. The school reviews the previous year's assessment record.

3. Admission counsellor interaction and records: The Admission Counsellor meets with the parents on the scheduled date. The school checks the previous year's assessment record as part of the placement process. Further interactions may be arranged with relevant programme coordinators as part of the admission flow. The final round is an interaction with the Head of School.

4. Special needs and admission: We provide admission to all students. In cases of severe learning needs, the school may offer suggestions to support the child, such as a shadow teacher. The child is supported by our Special Needs Educator to develop social and cognitive skills in collaboration with parents and teachers.

5. Primary Year Programme (PYP) specifics: Interaction with the PYP Coordinator is part of the process for placement into the Primary Year Programme. The admission process is structured to align with the age-appropriate criteria and assessment records.

6. Middle Years Programme (MYP) and assessment: For the Middle Year Programme, an entrance test in English, Science and Math is conducted to assess cognitive skills and inform placement decisions. Admissions are carried out in a fair and transparent manner.

7. Diploma Programme (DP) enrolment: Enrolment into Grades 11 and 12 is based on demonstrated ability to cope with the demands of the Diploma Programme. Scholarships are available for students of outstanding potential. External students must submit required documentation (e.g., completed records from prior boards) and may have provisional admission pending review. Places in Grade 11 are awarded on the basis of actual or predicted IGCSE (or equivalent) results, references, and interviews with the Diploma Programme Coordinator and the Director. Internal COIS students who have completed the Personal Project are eligible to enter the Diploma Programme. Subject choices in DP are based on prior subjects taken, with one-to-one interactions with DP subject teachers; aptitude/admission tests may be required to determine suitability for specific subjects.

8. Internal progression and subject selection: Internal students' prior performance and project work inform DP subject selection; external candidates are evaluated through past performance, references, and interviews.

9. Additional notes: The policy outlines Annexures and subject blocks for DP and other programme specifics as part of the formal admission framework.
