Internationally, CIRS is affiliated with the International Baccalaureate (IB) for Grades XI and XII, and children will follow either the CBSE or IB Curriculum in Grades XI and XII. The school includes a daily schedule featuring spiritual and values-based development. A spiritual class educates students on higher values and Indian culture. The medium of instruction is English in all classes. In addition to English, two more languages are required up to class VIII and one in IX-X. For the IB Diploma, a second language is compulsory and the options are Hindi and French. Overseas students can choose from Hindi, French and Sanskrit.
A counselor and wellness teacher supports student well-being. The dispensary is headed by a Medical Doctor with a team of nurses available around the clock. There is a tie-up with KG hospital in the city for medical care when needed.
CIRS has a safety policy focused on the safety and health of students, faculty and visitors. The school has a child protection committee that oversees measures for child safety. The policy covers health, hygiene, emergency planning and disaster management, with drills and defined responsibilities. 1. Registration opens for the academic year 2026-2027 in July. Registration is online and the registration fee is Rs 5000, payable online; cash payments are not accepted. Mere registration does not confer a right to admission.
2. The online application requires accurate information. Fields include the student's full name as per prior records, date of birth as per the Birth Certificate, and caste from OC/BC/MBC/SC/ST with caste certificate required at admission for certain categories. Also required are address for communication, contact number, mobile number, email address, and the Entrance Exam Centre. The Academic Year runs from April to March with vacations in May–June and December, and the Entrance Examination for 2026-27 will be held at selected centres in India and abroad.
3. The Entrance Examination structure is as follows: Grades V–VI test English and Mathematics (2 hours); Grades VII–IX test English, Mathematics and Science (3 hours). Subjects for IB and CBSE Entrance Exams follow tracks: Engineering (English, Physics & Chemistry, Mathematics), Medicine (English, Physics & Chemistry, Biology), and Management (English, Management Studies, Mathematics). For the IB Diploma, English, Mathematics, Science and General Awareness are tested in a 45-minute, multiple-choice format; the XI CBSE & IB exam duration is 3 hours. The entrance exam includes a creative writing section, and the syllabus is general and not based on any single Board/Syllabus.
4. After submission, entrance exam details are emailed to the applicant; ensure the provided email address is valid because communications are sent by e-mail.
5. A visit to the school is possible by appointment on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 10.00 am and 11.00 am IST. Visits require prior appointment, confirmation mail must be presented at the entrance, and only a limited number of visitors are allowed per day.
Entry Level - Chinmaya Vidyayoga: Merit-cum-Means Scholarship offered to attract meritorious students from all strata of society; the scholarship is awarded at the sole discretion of the Management, within a defined framework. The Merit Criteria are the applicant's academic performance in the CIRS admission test and their national/state ranking in sports; the Means Criteria are evaluated case by case, considering factors such as parents' occupation, known sources of income, family background, and number of siblings at CIRS. The scholarship amounts are: 15%–25% discount on annual fees for CBSE and up to Rs 100,000 per annum for IB.
