NES International School Mumbai is part of the NES-SVB Group formed by the National Education Society (NES), founded in 1963, and Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan (SVB), founded in 1983. The NES-SVB Group now comprises 69 institutions educating about 43,500 students. The seeds of NES were sown in 1963 with a primary school in Bhandup, and SVB was established in 1983 to extend professional education and education for the underprivileged. Dr. R. Varadarajan is the founder-principal, and the first IB World School within the network opened in 2004-05 alongside Cambridge CAIE; NES International School Mumbai operates as an IB World School within this network.
The school community participates in a range of national and cultural celebrations. Independence Day is observed with a theme such as Shahid Bhagat Singh; Republic Day is observed with a theme on Mrs. Indira Gandhi; Hindi Diwas honors the national language. Navratri is celebrated with Dandiya Raas and Garba Night; Diwali, Christmas, and Ganesh Chaturthi are also celebrated within the school community.
NES International School Mumbai, located in Mulund West, is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme, alongside Cambridge IGCSE. The school serves students aged 1 to 18 and is affiliated with India. Since 2005, NESISM has integrated IB with Cambridge curricula to provide diverse pathways. On campus learners access a Library, STEAM Lab, 3D Class and Enrichment Classes to support hands-on study, plus a Music Room and a centrally air-conditioned Auditorium seating over 450 for performances. The Turf ground provides an international-grade football facility with night lighting, while a Space Pavilion and a dedicated SAT center extend enrichment and assessment opportunities.
