Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The Well-being team works to support students' mental and emotional well-being. PULSE (Pathways of Universal Life Support Education) plans customized life-skill sessions to build emotional awareness and high EQ. Circle Time conversations are designed by the Counsellors and conducted by the Form Tutor to help students develop positive relationships and engage with one another. Wellbeing events such as Kindness Week, Peace Day Celebration, Gratitude Week and Mindful Retreat help the community connect through mindful practice. Sensitization sessions address digital safety, adolescent workshops, parental conversations and child safeguarding to support overall wellbeing.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Additional Learning Support provides an inclusive environment for students with diverse needs. ALS caters to students with learning difficulties, ADHD, ADD, and those needing social and behavioural counselling. The ALS Department provides academic support and beyond-academic collaborations to realise each student's potential. Academic support is extended through in-class collaboration with mainstream teachers to scaffold learning, remedial sessions tailored to individual needs, and exam accommodations according to the IB framework, with prep classes before examinations. A team of trained special educators works closely with students with special needs, and parents/guardians are key stakeholders in holistic development.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Supporting English Language Learners, English Support classes are conducted at various levels called Phases. Students are inducted into these phases based on placement test results. Phases 1 to 4 follow unit plans comprising the language skills such as Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Visuals, which are assessed at least twice in each semester. After Phase 4, students move to Bridging phase, where they follow the mainstream Language and Literature unit plan. In the Primary Years, English Support Program has four phases with an Individualised Learning Programme designed for each student by the Specialist, including individual or small-group instruction, curriculum or teaching modifications, and pull-out sessions to enable learners to achieve strategic and focussed learning outcomes. Once prepared, students join the Mainstream Language and Literature classes.

Mental Wellbeing

The Wellbeing Programme focuses on resilience-building and mindful sessions to support the overall growth of students. It emphasizes mental and emotional well-being across emotional, social, and physical dimensions and is delivered in collaboration with the Well-being team and other school stakeholders. PULSE provides social and emotional skill-building to create an emotionally aware community with high EQ. Circle Time sessions help students develop positive relationships and coping strategies, while wellbeing events promote mindful engagement and community connection.

Safeguarding

Pathways World School Gurugram has a Child Protection Policy (CPP) to promote a safe and caring environment free of violence, harassment, abuse and neglect, with a zero-tolerance stance toward such acts. The CPP provides guidelines to protect students from abuse on campus, during school trips and in extended environments, including transport. Staff are trained to recognize indicators of abuse and to respond to disclosures, and staff sign a Child Protection Pledge. Procedures for reporting concerns and annual audits of child security monitor CPP implementation, with parents having a right to obtain a copy of the audit. The CPP applies to Pathways staff, visitors, parents, visiting faculty and other third-party service providers who interact with students on campus or on school trips.
