Ten air-conditioned buses operate in Delhi and Gurugram. Bus service is available to students from Year 2 (six years) upwards. The service is run on a no-profit-no-loss basis and fees are collected per term. Each bus has two attendants (one female and one male).
Application / Registration and Admission Fees
- Registration fee: INR 30,000 (non-refundable; payable at time of registration).
- Admission fee (one-time): INR 150,000 (non-refundable).
- Development fee (one-time, capital expenditure): INR 625,000 for Nursery–Year 11; Years 12 & 13 are charged at a subsidised rate of INR 156,250 (75% subsidy). No part of the development fee is refundable. Concessional development fee of 60% applies for the third sibling onwards.
- Society fee (annual, per family): INR 5,000.
Refundable and Deposits Payable at Admission
- Refundable deposit: equal to one term's tuition fee and required at admission. Listed refundable deposit amounts by year group are: Nursery & Reception INR 245,000; Years 1–6 INR 216,000; Years 7–9 INR 289,000; Years 10 & 11 INR 289,000; Years 12 & 13 INR 346,000. Refundable deposits are fully refundable provided one clear term's written notice is given to Accounts with copy to Admissions, subject to clearance of textbooks and library items and adjustment for any outstanding balances. The deposit must be topped up at the start of each academic year to maintain the equivalent of one term's fee.

- Nursery & Reception: INR 245,000 per term. Total payable at admission (first term + deposits/one-time fees as applicable) is shown in the admission summary below.
- Years 1 to 6: INR 216,000 per term.
- Years 7 to 9: INR 289,000 per term.
- Years 10 & 11: INR 289,000 per term.
- Years 12 & 13: INR 346,000 per term.
Total Fee Payable at Time of Admission (example, one-time + first term + deposits where applicable)
- Nursery & Reception: INR 1,270,000.
- Years 1–6: INR 1,212,000.
- Years 7–9: INR 1,360,000.
- Years 10 & 11: INR 1,361,000.
- Years 12 & 13: INR 1,006,250.
Billing Schedule and Payment Terms
- Invoicing: School fees are invoiced on the first day of each term. Fees are payable within 15 days of the invoice date. Annual or bi-annual invoicing is available by special request.
- Late payment: Term/tuition fees not paid by the due date attract a late fee of INR 1,000 per week (or part thereof) per student.
- Offer acceptance deadlines: Upon acceptance of an offer, students residing in India must pay the invoice within 3 working days; students residing overseas must pay within 10 working days. Cash payments are not accepted.
Optional / Ancillary Fees
- Bus service: Optional, charged per term per route (fixed per term regardless of single/return use). Bus service is available from Year 2 (age 6+) upwards; charges vary by route.
- Lunch / meal plan: Optional; INR 260 per day (per meal) when availed. Meal plans are charged per term.
- EAL (English as an Additional Language) support: Charged if applicable at INR 20,000 per term.
- Book deposit (payable at admission where applicable): Years 7–9 INR 2,000; Years 10–13 INR 3,000. Book deposit conditions and replacement charges for lost/damaged books apply.
- Uniform: Uniforms are required for Nursery–Year 11 and are available from the on-site uniform shop; IB (Years 12–13) students follow a dress code rather than a uniform. Separate summer and winter uniforms and PE uniforms apply; parents purchase uniforms as required.
- External examination fees: Charged at actual cost according to examination board fees.
Boarding / Residential
- The British School is a day school; there are no boarding or residential fees. Students must reside with at least one parent/guardian in the Delhi NCR area.
Refund and Withdrawal Conditions (deposit and one-time fees)
- Registration fee: INR 30,000 is non-refundable and does not guarantee a place.
- Development fee and admission fee: Non-refundable under any circumstance.
- Refundable deposit: Fully refundable provided one clear term's written notice is given to the Accounts office with a copy to Admissions and provided the student returns all textbooks and library items in good condition and all outstanding balances are settled. Unpaid balances at the end of the academic year will be adjusted against the refundable deposit and the deposit must be topped up for the following year if required.
Fee Payment Options
- Registration payments (online): Credit/debit card payments are accepted online for registration. Bank charges may apply. Cash payment is not accepted.
- Ongoing invoiced fee payments: The school's online fee payment portal allows payment by Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking through selectable payment gateways. The British School New Delhi sits on a Chanakyapuri campus serving ages 3–17.
