O levels were introduced in 1968 and the school moved to its current Chanakyapuri location in 1969. The Parent Teacher Association was formed in 1984. IGCSE was introduced in 1989 and A levels in 1990, and the IB Diploma was introduced in 2005. The new school building was inaugurated in 2016, and in 2018 The British School was named the top British International School of the Year by BISA.

Community

Community engagement focuses on a Community Service Programme that embeds the UN Sustainable Development Goals into service learning to foster civic responsibility and purposeful action. Community service is both physical and intangible, teaching students real-world skills and benefiting the wider community. Projects include visiting NGOs, planting trees, Sports Day for differently abled students, sheltering street animals, and donating books, toys, food, and ration. CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) is a core part of the IB Diploma Programme and is woven into the timetable to develop knowledgeable, principled, and caring individuals.
