Fees
Application / Registration Fees

Tuition and Boarding Fees (Annual amounts by year group / curriculum)

- Fees are published as annual charges. The annual tuition/boarding charges for Academic Year 2025–26 are shown by form/curriculum and by residency status as follows (amounts are per annum):
- Forms D to A (DSC / ICSE curriculum): Indian residents INR 1,362,000; NRI INR 1,702,500.
- Forms S / SC (ISC curriculum): Indian residents INR 1,362,000; NRI INR 1,702,500.
- Forms S / SC (IB curriculum): Indian residents INR 1,562,000; NRI INR 1,902,500.
- These annual figures include boarding (The Doon School is a fully residential school; tuition and boarding are charged together in the annual fee).

Per‑term equivalents (calculation / presentation)

- The school publishes fees on a per‑annum basis. For database display and comparison, a per‑term equivalent can be calculated by dividing the annual figure into equal term instalments. The school does not publish a per‑term schedule on the published fee page; the per‑term numbers below are equal three‑term splits (calculated values, presented here as an equal-split inference):
- DSC / ICSE (Indian resident) INR 1,362,000 per year — equivalent to INR 454,000 per term (annual ÷ 3).
- DSC / ICSE (NRI) INR 1,702,500 per year — equivalent to INR 567,500 per term (annual ÷ 3).
- ISC (Indian resident) INR 1,362,000 per year — equivalent to INR 454,000 per term (annual ÷ 3).
- ISC (NRI) INR 1,702,500 per year — equivalent to INR 567,500 per term (annual ÷ 3).
- IB (Indian resident) INR 1,562,000 per year — equivalent to INR 520,667 per term (annual ÷ 3).
- IB (NRI) INR 1,902,500 per year — equivalent to INR 634,167 per term (annual ÷ 3).

- Note: the per‑term figures above are derived by an equal three‑term division of the published annual fees; they are presented as an inferred equal instalment breakdown for convenience and are not published term invoices.

Other one‑time and recurring charges

- Imprest Advance (annual): INR 50,000 for Indian residents; INR 50,000 for NRIs. This is an advance to be held for incidental/consumable expenses.

- Admission Fee (one‑time, non‑refundable at time of admission): Indian residents INR 500,000; NRI INR 851,250. This payment is payable at the time an offer of admission is accepted.

- Security Deposit (one‑time, refundable at time of leaving subject to deductions for outstanding liabilities): Indian residents INR 700,000; NRI INR 851,250. This deposit is collected at admission and refundable per the school's rules after clearance of dues.

- Other costs commonly charged in addition to the annual fee (may be billed separately or drawn from the imprest advance): uniform and tailoring, textbooks and stationery, co‑curricular club charges, specialist coaching, travel for official school tours, examination/board fees where applicable, medical expenses beyond routine care, and optional programme fees (e.g., summer programmes). The school's online fee payment form also distinguishes Tuition Fee and Advance for Expenses as separate pay categories.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Fees are published as per‑annum charges. At registration and acceptance of an offered place, the following payments are specifically required: the registration charge at application/registration; the admission fee (non‑refundable) and the security deposit (refundable) at the time of admission; and the annual imprest advance. The school's registration guidance sets out the registration fee schedule and notes acceptable payment routes including Demand Draft or Cheque in favour of “The Headmaster, The Doon School” or online payment / QR payment options. For online fee transactions the school uses an online fee payment system.

Refunds and refundable items

- Admission fee is non‑refundable. The security deposit is refundable (one‑time) and returned subject to deduction for any outstanding liabilities and the school's refund/clearance process. The imprest advance is an advance to meet expenses and is adjusted against charges; procedures for settlement/adjustment follow the school's finance rules.

Fee payment options and payment channels

- Accepted payment channels include: online fee payment through the school's HDFC SmartHub online fee portal (used for tuition, registration, advance for expenses and other fees), Demand Draft or Cheque payable to “The Headmaster, The Doon School”, and QR‑code payment methods referenced on the registration guidance. The HDFC SmartHub payment interface lists Tuition Fee and Advance for Expenses as payable categories. Specific card, net‑banking or UPI options available on the payment gateway may vary; the school's online payment portal is used for electronic transactions.

In Middle School (VII–VIII) students build foundations in language arts, global languages, STEM, humanities, arts and well-being, with emphasis on independence, self-awareness, leadership and personal development. The school is affiliated to CISCE, IGCSE and IB, reflecting cross-board offerings. The Chandbagh campus blends heritage with modern facilities, including Kilachand Library, the BML Munjal Auditorium and the Rose Bowl open-air theatre; a Sports Complex includes a heated pool, gym and floodlit courts. Centres of Excellence for Drama, Creative Writing and Critical Thinking, plus a Music School and an Art and Media Centre, support creative and intellectual development.
