Facilities

Resources and spaces that support learning and development

Facilities Overview

The school has a wall-less, nature-immersed bamboo campus set in Bali's jungle along the Ayung River. Bamboo structures provide outdoor, living learning spaces that blend with permaculture gardens and waterways. The campus is powered by renewable energy, including a solar panel array (118 panels with a 72 kWh battery) and a micro-hydro system, and it uses rainwater harvesting. On-site facilities include an Innovation Hub (a zero-waste maker space for cross-disciplinary projects), an Aquaponics Centre, a Compost Station, a Waste Management Centre, and a Bio Bus lab. The Arc gym is a prominent bamboo structure that supports sport and wellbeing.

Sports Facilities

The Arc is the campus gym, a landmark bamboo structure that supports physical wellbeing and sport. It features a bamboo arch roof and a gym floor made from recycled airplane tyres, and it integrates a hybrid solar and micro-hydro energy system. The wellbeing approach emphasizes movement and outdoor, nature-based activity in wall-less spaces around the campus.

Academic Facilities

An on-campus Innovation Hub is a zero-waste maker space that incubates student ideas and cross-disciplinary projects, combining waste management, the Bio Bus lab, science, technology, maths, design and art. Learning is guided by the Green Literacies Framework and Three Frames of Learning—Experiential, Proficiency, and Thematics. The school is fully accredited by WASC and offers a U.S. High School Diploma. On-campus facilities include Aquaponics Centre, Compost Station, Waste Management Centre and Solar Panel/micro-hydro energy infrastructure to support hands-on, sustainability‑oriented learning.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Bio Bus is a student-led, renewable-energy transport initiative powered by used cooking oil, a social enterprise that is the only service in Indonesia operating on 100% renewable energy and features a public pump station. Bio Bus is learning with a purpose, with field trips to local schools via Kul Kul Connection, Green School's community outreach program. Green Camp Bali offers family camps, kids & youth camps, and school camps focused on sustainability education, intercultural appreciation, and nature-based learning. Four pillars of Green Camp are Sustainability Education, Intercultural Appreciation, Personal & Social Development, and Nature-Based Learning. On-campus gardens and permaculture features provide ongoing outdoor learning opportunities.
