Hillcrest School is a college preparatory, private Christian school in Papua, Indonesia. Enrollment is 146 students in grades Pre-1 through 12. The campus covers over 40 acres and includes a library, multiple indoor sports facilities, a dormitory, a band room, a clinic, computer and science labs, and arts spaces. The school has Elementary, Middle, and High School, and the year runs August to May. Courses follow U.S. curriculum standards and are taught in English; some grammar, writing, and history may be taught in the mother tongue when staff are available. The High School offers AP courses in English Language and Composition, Calculus AB, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Comparative Government and Politics. Graduation can be earned with a College Preparatory diploma, or General or Indonesian diplomas; 25 credits for General and 28 for College Prep. Core requirements include Bible, English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language, P.E./Health, Fine Arts, Computer, and Electives. Standardized tests include NWEA MAP Growth (grades 1–8); PSAT 8/9 (grades 8–9) and PSAT/NMSQT (grades 10–12); SAT and ACT offered each semester. Class sizes range 5–17; student–teacher ratio around 1:5. The student body represents multiple nationalities; over 85% go to university; 95% of graduates are accepted worldwide. About 30 teachers come from Canada, Indonesia, the Netherlands, South Korea, and the USA. Hillcrest is accredited by WASC, holds SPK status, and is a member of EARCOS, ACSI, and NHS.
Hillcrest School is a Christian day school in Sentani, Papua, offering an American-based curriculum. The program follows U.S. standards and uses AERO for core subjects, integrating a Christian worldview. Bible is used in social studies and science; every student takes a Bible course each semester with weekly chapels. Instruction is in English, with Indonesian language included; ELL support and mother-tongue instruction offered when staff allow.
