History

SpInS – International School started in 2003, founded by Mrs. Sanjana Bhat B. Sc. B. Pharma, M.B.A (Fin) and M.B.A (Mktg), an Indian expatriate. It began with 14 students in July 2003. It has grown to nearly 500 students from 15 nationalities, with Indian students forming the majority, making it the largest international school in Surabaya by enrollment and diversity. The Indonesian Ministry of Research & Technology recognized the founder by awarding International Professional of the Year in March 2004.

Community

The school community participates in a variety of events and activities throughout the year. Student Day (January 2026) and Thankful Day (December 2025) are featured on the events calendar, along with field trips for different grade levels (e.g., Grade 5–6; Grade 3–4; Grade 1–2; Grade 7; Grade 8; Grade 10–12). Cultural and awareness days include Batik Day (October 2025), International Literacy Day (September 2025), World Peace Day (September 2025), Independence Day (August 2025), International Friendship Day (August 2025), and International Cultural Fest (2025).

SpInS – International School began in 2003 in Surabaya and now serves nearly 500 students from 15 nationalities. The school follows Cambridge curricula for Primary and Secondary, with learning programs aligned to the Cambridge framework and compulsory National Curriculum requirements. It was founded by Mrs. Sanjana Bhat, whose work was recognized by Indonesia's Ministry of Research & Technology as International Professional of the Year in 2004. The campus offers a broad extracurricular program, including events such as International Friendship Day, International Chess Day, Arts and cultural activities like Batik Day and an International Cultural Fest, plus field trips for multiple grade levels and a Summer Sensory Motor Camp. Programs emphasize life skills, learning through trips, and cultural discovery. School life also features service and sustainability activities such as Miles for Smiles, Earth Day, and World Peace Day, alongside ongoing language and cultural celebrations that connect students with diverse peers globally.
