Cambridge Child Development Centre Surabaya began operating in 2004 at Jl. Raya Satelit Indah AN-2 with classes for toddlers through Kindergarten 1 in English, Mandarin Chinese and Bahasa Indonesia, as a franchise from Singapore following the Singaporean curriculum. In 2007, with the addition of lower primary, it moved to a larger building at Jl. Raya Satelit Indah CN-1. In 2011, CCDC changed its name to Surabaya Cambridge School, adopted the Cambridge curriculum and applied to become a member of Cambridge International Education. In 2012, SCS became a registered Cambridge International School (ID 295), moved to its own building inside Perumahan Alam Galaxy, and began Primary Checkpoint for 6th graders; the secondary department started in 2013. The school expanded to offer IGCSE, AS and A Level examinations; Primary gained SPK status in 2016 and Junior High in 2018, the secondary department moved to a new building in 2019; today alumni have gained admission to universities worldwide, including scholarships to CUHK and opportunities in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea, as well as the USA, the UK, and Germany.
Surabaya Cambridge School operates under a Global Standard Curriculum with Cambridge Assessment and fosters a multilingual, multicultural environment with active learning. Students participate in a diverse set of clubs and athletic programs, including Arts and Design, English Literature, Debate, Economics, Photography, ML Club/E-sports, Basketball and Badminton. The school holds annual events such as Open Day, Independence Day Celebration, Chinese New Year, Foundation Day, Recognition Day and Theatre Production.
Surabaya Cambridge School offers a blended Cambridge and local curriculum for international-minded families.
