Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school uses RULER, a world-renowned Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programme developed by the Yale Centre for Emotional Intelligence, as a foundational part of the wellbeing and personal development curriculum. RULER aims to cultivate the emotional intelligence that supports learning and life beyond school. Implementation follows three phases: staff personal practice, classroom integration, and family and community engagement. RULER is planned to be embedded across the school from Early Years through Year 6 and builds emotional literacy and a compassionate school culture. The broader approach includes mindfulness, yoga and meditation as part of wellbeing, emotional balance and holistic growth.

Mental Wellbeing

RULER supports wellbeing and personal development by teaching emotional intelligence for lifelong balance and resilience. The programme is integrated into the wellbeing curriculum across the school, with planned inclusion of mindfulness practices such as mindfulness, yoga and meditation as part of a holistic growth approach.
