The Independent School Batam (ISB) is a non-profit international school on Batam Island, Indonesia. It offers a staged curriculum from Early Years to Secondary: Early Years (Pre-School, R1, R2), Primary (KS1, KS2), and Secondary (KS3, KS4). Core subjects are English, Mathematics, and Science; Foundation subjects include Geography, History, Health and Moral Education, Handwriting, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Mandarin is taught as a modern language; Optional subjects include Swimming, Audio Visual, and Drama. Indonesian nationals study Indonesian language, Civics (PPKN), and Religion; foreign nationals study Indonesian Language and Indonesian Studies. Co-curricular activities include Traditional and Modern Music and Dances; Drama is optional. ISB was established in 1999 by expatriate parents and operates with open management under Yayasan Pendidikan Multinasional Ramdani. Facilities include Computer Labs, a Science Laboratory, Library, Lunch Areas, and Sports Facilities across Junior-High, Primary, and Pre-School. Performance, excursions, camping, Cross Country, and Sports Day complete the overall program.
