Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Uluwatu School was founded by a group of educators and parents who have lived and worked in Bali for over nine years. The school is operated under the legal entity Yayasan Sekolah Uluwatu and opened its campus to its first student cohort in August 2025. The campus itself holds historical significance as it was formerly the private residence and art studio of the late artist Ashley Bickerton. This founding team aimed to create an educational environment centered on the Bukit Peninsula’s local and international community needs.
The school community is centered on the "4Cs" framework—Contribution, Collaboration, Connection, and Curiosity—with a strong focus on ocean stewardship. Cultural and community engagement occurs through student-led symposiums and "Learner Led Conferences" where families gather to observe academic projects. The school also fosters a single-use plastic-free environment, which serves as a shared community standard for all families and staff.
The school’s parent group is officially known as PAUS (Parent Association of Uluwatu School), a name chosen because whales symbolize guardianship and exploration. Membership is automatic for all parents, who are encouraged to contribute to the school's development through volunteer positions and skill-sharing workshops. PAUS activities include informal "Meet the Educator" sessions, themed workshop series, and the development of a dedicated "Parent Community Hub" on campus. This association provides a platform for parent voices and supports specific school events like assemblies and environmental initiatives. Parents also collaborate through PAUS to facilitate car-sharing and other community-led support systems.
