Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Wesley International School began in 1971 when Marcia Kirby started teaching the four children of Dale and Marian Neff in their home, calling it the OMS Guided Learning Center. The name Wesley reflects its distinctively Christian character, and 'International' signaled the diverse nationalities represented from the start. The curriculum is basically American, with adaptations for the international and intercultural environment. The school moved to larger facilities on Jl. Baluran as enrollment grew, and in 1980 was registered and adopted the name Wesley International School, later relocating to Telaga Bodas 1 in 1988 to accommodate growth. In 1998 the board expanded into high school, and in 2001 the present Kwoka campus became home to the secondary students in March and to the elementary students in August, with expansions in 2002–2003 and major upgrades in 2008, including a soccer stadium, larger car park, and gym.

Community

The Wesley community is a vibrant and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to explore their interests and talents. Beyond academics, it offers a broad range of extracurricular activities such as swimming, badminton, soccer, basketball, Worship Night, a Student Body Council, and a Photo Club. The community is guided by a Christ-centered mission and a biblical worldview, aiming to raise up Christians, develop communicators, educate thinkers, nurture lifetime learners, and shape global citizens.
