Admissions

Admissions

1. Required documents & initial interview for registration. Parents can complete the registration process at MIS through the school website or in person. Grade KG or a single student must initially register online and then attend an interview with the school counsellors. The student's most recent report card or transcript must be submitted by the admission team. Complete the application forms. The head of the school or principal will interview the student's parents. After these requirements are met, an interview appointment will be scheduled.

2. Analyzing students' educational history. After reviewing the documents and forms, MIS assesses applicants: PYP students (KG–grade 5) are evaluated through oral and written components. Early PYP years (KG–grade 2) are evaluated orally by the curriculum director and the coordinator, while upper PYP years (grades 3–5) undergo two steps: an onscreen assessment and an oral interview with the curriculum director and coordinator. MYP & DP students are evaluated through multiple steps as part of a comprehensive review.

3. Step 1–3: Entrance exam and interviews. Step 1: Students take an onscreen entrance exam; subjects include English Language & Literature, Persian Language & Literature, French, Mathematics, and Sciences. Step 2: Students have an interview with the program curriculum director. Step 3: Students have an interview with the IB coordinator of the related program. Notes: Entrance exam and interview results are recorded on Form A.1; the final decision is reported to the parents. If interviews or exams cannot be conducted in person, they may be held online. If a student does not meet curriculum standards, a two-week trial or referral to the SEN department may be offered.

4. Final decision and waitlist. Admissions may be granted or denied, or a student may be placed on a waiting list; the director has ultimate approval. MIS requires applicants to present actual report cards for the previous two academic years. MIS currently accepts applicants aged 6–11.

Waitlist

Admission may be granted or denied or placed on a waiting list; final acceptance is at the director's discretion. MIS currently accepts applicants aged 6–11, and final decisions may involve reviewing whether the school can accommodate the student's needs.
