Britannia International School of Rome was founded in 1987 as a private international primary school located in the south of Rome. It provides an English education for children aged 3-11 and a whole school curriculum plan based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, which serves as the framework for teaching and learning. A team of qualified English mother-tongue teachers plan the curriculum and share expertise to the benefit of all the children. The school aims to offer a broad and balanced curriculum that inspires children to achieve excellence and enjoyment in their learning, and to develop pupils' skills and talents through the extensiveness and creativity of the curriculum in school and extracurricular activities.
The school has a warm and active community and opens its doors to share the work students do with families. Parents have regular opportunities to meet with their child's teacher and watch presentations and performances. The Britannia Volunteer Group, made up of devoted Britannia Mums and Dads, supports on these days and organizes many other exciting and fun events for the children and the school. The school arranges field trips in and out of Rome throughout the year depending on class projects and themes.
The Britannia Volunteer Group serves as the school's parent volunteer group. It is made up of Britannia Mums and Dads who help on days when parents visit and organize many other events for the children and the school. They support presentations, performances and school life and coordinate charity fundraising activities throughout the year. They work with teachers to support the curriculum and school events. The school calendar includes Charity Fundraising as part of the year's activities.
