Deutsche Schule Mailand (Scuola Germanica di Milano) is a German–Italian Begegnungsschule in Milan (Via Legnano 24) that provides kindergarten, primary (Grundschule) and secondary (Gymnasium) education and serves children aged 3 to 18. The school follows its own curricula oriented on German standards (notably with reference to the Thuringian education plan) while integrating Italian requirements; its eight‑year gymnasial programme concludes with the Deutsche Internationale Abiturprüfung (DIA), which is recognised in both Germany and Italy (Diploma di Maturità). Instruction is delivered principally in German and Italian; English is introduced from Year 5 and pupils choose French or Latin from Year 7, while Italian‑as‑a‑foreign‑language courses are offered for non‑Italian speakers. On‑site facilities described on the school website include an atrium, a shared sports hall called the “Palestrina”, a central mensa, art and ceramics ateliers, a large schoolyard and two libraries. The school also publishes information about psychopedagogical support and an internal mentoring programme for students.
