History
The Roma Japanese School began as Roma Japanese Supplementary School in October 1975, operated by the Roma Japanese Association Education Committee, with classrooms at the Japanese Culture Center. In 1984, it was authorized by the Ministry of Education as a supplementary school and a principal was dispatched. In 1986, the Roma Japanese Association Executive Council resolved to establish a full-time Japanese school. In April 1987, the local name was changed to Roma Japanese School; the full-time elementary division for grades 1–3 opened; AGIS was established. In September 1987, the full-time elementary division became grades 1–6.
