Lycée Français Chateaubriand de Rome is a French international school located in Rome and a member of the AEFE network. It serves students from ages 3 to 18, from kindergarten through terminale, across campuses: Strohl-Fern for younger levels, and Patrizi and Malpighi for the lycée. The school is homologated by the French Ministry of National Education, confirming that its programs and organization follow French requirements while offering Italian language instruction. Curriculum emphasizes the French general path after middle school, with Seconde, Première and Terminale, and options such as ESABAC (French-Italian double diploma) or LCN (Langue et Civilisation Nationale). Three campuses serve different levels in central Rome. Strohl-Fern is at Via di Villa Ruffo, 31, 00196 Rome, lying at the bottom of the Villa Borghese park, and hosts nursery through 4th grade. Malpighi is at Via Malpighi, 11, 00161 Rome, hosting 9th and 10th grades. Patrizi is at Via di Villa Patrizi, 9, 00161 Rome, hosting 11th and 12th grades.

A paid school transport service is offered for the Strohl-Fern site, organized by the APE in partnership with Societa Cooperativa Chateau. Minibuses pick up from home or a meeting point and drop off at Strohl-Fern at 8:20 a.m.; an attendant accompanies each bus; return trips are at 15:30 daily, with two departures on Wednesdays at 12:30 and 15:30.

After middle school, students follow the general track which includes Seconde, Première and Terminale. The lycée offers a general education while allowing ESABAC (French-Italian double diploma) or LCN (Langue et Civilisation Nationale). LCN is mandatory for Italian nationals who do not follow ESABAC. Students may also join the English-language European Section (English History-Geography or English Sciences). The baccalaureate results are excellent and enable access to highly selective higher education programs in France, Italy, and beyond. At the end of Terminale, the baccalaureate is awarded if students meet the assessment and final examination requirements.

Online pre-registration: Pre-registrations are open for the 2026-2027 school year and remain accessible for the current year. Pre-registration requests for all levels are exclusively online here. Use the French version of the platform and consult the user guide at the bottom of the page. Incomplete dossiers will not be considered. Please ensure that the information exactly matches the child's identity (important for potential school trips). Before proceeding with online pre-registration, you must have the following documents ready (PDF, max 25 MB): Extract of the pupil's birth certificate or full copy of the Family Record Book; copy of the pupil's identity document; copy of the pupil's Codice Fiscale, if available; copy of the identity document of Guardian 1; copy of the identity document of Guardian 2; in case of separation or divorce, the parents/legal guardians must provide a copy of the court decision specifying custody and residence of the child; current school certificate for the current year (except for Petite Section applications); school reports or bulletins for the current year; completed previous year's and current year's reports (to be transmitted as soon as available); full banking details (RIB).
