ISL and ESL courses are offered for students who encounter difficulties with Italian and English, customized to each student needs. The goal is to fill language barriers and integrate students to class standards, especially for newcomers with deficiencies in English or Italian. The ESL program strengthens grammar, vocabulary and comprehension through individual or group activities, projects and text comprehension. The ISL program builds Italian basics such as grammar, spelling and vocabulary through concept maps, text analysis and group work. Periodic meetings between ESL/ISL teachers and class teachers monitor progress and determine integration back to the regular timetable.
