Founded in 1993 as a full-time English-language primary school. In the 2000/2001 school year the first middle school was established, and the early years program followed. The school now provides a continuous educational pathway for ages 3 to 14 across Early Years, Primary and Middle School. Governance and planning emphasise a coordinated educational project with involvement from parents and staff.
ISVenice organises annual cultural exchanges for Year 5 Primary and Middle School to England and Spain to experience culture and practise languages, including museum visits and theatre experiences. Extra-curricular activities and clubs run from October to May in the late afternoon, including Digital Clubs, Performing Arts, Foreign Languages, and Music and Sports, with a Summer Camp offered in the holidays. The school also hosts and participates in community activities and events as part of school life.
The Parent and staff body is a collegial group composed of elected parent representatives, the school director and the educational coordinator. It formulates proposals for staff to consider and supports collaboration between staff, parents and children. It fosters cooperation and the mutual respect of roles within the school's governance framework. It works alongside other governance structures such as the collegio docenti and class councils.
The International School of Venice offers a bilingual English–Italian education for ages 3–14. The curriculum blends the English National Curriculum with Italian Ministerial Programs across Early Years (3–6), Primary (6–11) and Middle School (11–14). English is the language of instruction, with Italian integrated to support an international, bilingual setting. The School Curriculum Plan covers all three levels, and Primary pupils prepare for the Italian certificate while Middle School students sit an external state exam. Cambridge English exams are prepared in collaboration with the Oxford School in Venice. Founded in 1993, IS Venice provides a continuous learning pathway with active involvement from parents and staff. The campus uses eco-sustainable, bio-building design, prioritizing student well-being and digital learning. A STEAM approach underpins Mathematics and computing—Movement Through Math—with hands-on science experiences through Fenice Green Energy Park field trips. After-school clubs, Latin for Middle School and a Summer Camp broaden opportunities for culture, sports and creativity.
