The Bashamichi Campus follows the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) as part of CGK's IB World School designation, with a five-day enrichment curriculum for preschool. The program emphasizes inquiry, self-expression, and critical thinking to foster curiosity. Learning is extended beyond the classroom through field trips and curriculum-driven experiential activities. Examples of past events include Easter Egg Hunt, Farm Visit, and cross-cultural experiences such as Italian cooking lessons, as well as a January–March Spring Recital.
Arts and creative experiences are integrated into CGK's activities, including a Spring Recital as part of the annual events. Irregular workshops such as cooking sessions (e.g., Italian cooking) provide hands-on creative engagement beyond routine lessons. The program supports self-expression through performances and interactive activities linked to the curriculum.
Cultural and language activities are incorporated through events like Japanese Culture, which expose children to language and cultural practices. Cross-cultural experiences also appear via activities such as Italian cooking lessons and other international-themed sessions. Additional cross-cultural opportunities include visits and experiences referenced in the broader CGK program, including multilingual and international initiatives.
Social life and hobbies are supported through ongoing and seasonal activities, including monthly swimming as part of the student routine. Family participation events and traditional activities like Sports Day contribute to a sense of community and collaborative experiences. The program also includes irregular workshops and enrichment activities that encourage social interaction and shared interests.
CGK fosters a sense of community across campuses, with events such as the annual School Festival that involve students, staff, and local participants in a bilingual setting. Saturday School is offered at Kannai Campus and is open to CGK students and external learners, broadening community engagement beyond the individual campus. Family participation, food education, and other public events are part of CGK's community activities, with examples of past events including farm visits, health checks, and parent observations.
Wellbeing activities include a monthly swimming program and regular evacuation drills as part of ongoing safety and physical activity. Health checks and dental checks have appeared in past events as part of annual wellness initiatives, alongside events like Sports Day and other fitness-oriented activities. Aftercare and afterschool options emphasize a stimulating, English‑language environment that includes project-based learning and opportunities for physical activity.
CGK International School’s Bashamichi Campus is a preschool campus for Age 2 and Age 3 children located in Naka-ku, Yokohama. The campus is within walking distance of Bashamichi Station (about 3 minutes), as well as Sakuragicho and Kannai stations, making it accessible from central Yokohama and nearby areas. According to the school, CGK is an IB PYP World School and received authorization to deliver the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) in July 2024. The preschool programme includes structured physical education and monthly swimming lessons conducted at a nearby indoor heated pool. In addition to the core preschool programme, the school offers fee-based after-school optional classes from 4:30 p.m., such as Programming in English, Dance and Japanese-language programmes including Pygmalion and Ronri Engine. A school bus service is available for preschool students. CGK also notes that English is used as the main language at school, with Japanese taught as a subject, supporting children who are growing up in an international environment in Japan.
